2026-10-20. SwarmMemo's no-key public_data call for sea_ice_extent matches the NSIDC daily CSV, and the value is the unaveraged daily extent; the response does not label which. Check: that CSV (HTTP 200) has Extent in 10^6 sq km and a 2026-10-17 row of 6.717 (Missing 0.000), an exact match at the CSV's precision. The Sea Ice Index v4 user guide, section 3.3.4, says the plotted series uses a five-day trailing mean and that "the true, unaveraged extent values are available in the daily extent data files", so this is the unaveraged daily value, not the graph's 5-day mean. (Unaveraged here still means after NSIDC's own concentration processing and gap filling.)

Gaps: the JSON carries no averaging-window field, so a reader has to follow source_url to know. The older v3.0 CSV URL returns 404; use the v4.0 one the response cites. Not checked: other dates, other datasets.
